Let this blue paisley steampunk dirigible float into your imagination among serene inner skies. Could it ever really fly with no wings and a prayer? Maybe if all that brass looking stuff were clever light weight plant fiber composites of our coming low energy future? Could this be what air travel will look like when it’s no longer practical to pour the energy equivalent of the entire annual harvest of a productive farm down the tubes just for an afternoon’s journey?
I liked the sample image I produced for the steampunk airship 3D model enough to render it up to poster size for you to enjoy in my online gallery, with the new title ‘Aerial Alchemy’. I’ve just received a 40 inch print rolled in a tube and it looks great. There is an ecosystem with trees in this image, one that exists just to create reflections on the brass surfaces. Check out the close up of just the nose cone (click for full size).
